New order for Lifeline radios from the Freeplay Foundation
Freeplay Energy plc (AIM: FRE), the sustainable energy company that captures, stores and delivers electric power to self-powered devices such as radios, torches and mobile phone chargers, is pleased to announce that the Freeplay Foundation, in partnership with a US based not-for-profit organisation, has placed a further order for 13,000 Lifeline radios.

The significant order follows the successful Times Christmas 2005 Appeal, of which the Freeplay Foundation was one of two chosen charities. Since 1 January 2006, the Freeplay Foundation and its partners have ordered in excess of $650,000 worth of Lifeline radios, all of which will have been delivered to the Foundation by the end of May 2006.

The Lifeline radio, launched in 2003, is a unique, self-sufficient AM/FM/SW radio that has been designed specifically for use in development and other humanitarian projects. It has been extensively researched and field tested to determine its functionality, styling and ease of use for people who need sustainable access to listening.

Rory Stear, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer commented:
"We are delighted with this substantial order from the Freeplay Foundation, which reinforces Freeplay Energy's commitment to providing sustainable energy in the developing world. More generally, the opportunities in Africa for Freeplay's products are significant and we are already beginning to see the impact of the strengthened business development team coming through in their pro-active approach towards the expansion and identification of sustainable products for the future."

Notes to Editors: Freeplay Energyís core technology revolves around the efficient conversion and storage of applied human energy, and the delivery of this energy on demand as electricity to create self-powered electronic devices. Initial applications include radios (both consumer and humanitarian), torches, mobile phone chargers and standalone foot chargers and the Company has a new product development plan which anticipates broadening the application of its technology into new product categories. Freeplay believes it was first to market and commercialise self-powered technology and that it is recognised as a leading brand in this market for such products.

Established in 1994, the Company today has offices in both London and Cape Town and floated on AIM, a market operated by the London Stock Exchange plc in March 2005. Further information about Freeplay Energy and its products can be found at
