Everything you ever wanted to know about the AC Adapter
How do I get the plug onto the adapter?
Hold the adapter so that the cord is hanging from the bottom. With
your other hand, insert the top end of the plug (it is marked TOP) into
the top end of the depressed area of the adapter, and it will hook on.
Then press the plug onto the adapter and it will snap on. (To release
it later, find the semi-circular OPEN button that is below the plug,
and slide it away from the plug. The plug will pop off.)
Can I use this to power other devices?
Yes, as long as they have a standard mini-USB socket. Many mobile
phones and digital cameras now do. (Note that many Sony products use a
non-standard socket that is similar to mini-USB but has a slightly
different shape, so standard adapters from Freeplay and other
manufacturers will not fit.)
In what countries can this be used?
In most countries you can use one of the three plugs that are
included. In the others, a plug adapter should be inexpensive
and easy to find. Many countries are listed on the Power
page.
I'm travelling to a country where the outlets are different. How do I switch to a different plug?
On the main part of the adapter, find the release button, which is shaped like a semi-circle and is marked OPEN. Slide it away from where the plug is, and the plug will pop off. Then push on the other plug (if you have difficulty doing that, see the question "How do I get the plug onto the adapter?").
Can this replace the AC adapter that was included with my Freeplay product?
No. If you need to replace that adapter, please see our Customer Service page to contact
us.
